I’m moving a 1900s carriage house to my property in the spring. I’d like to use corrugated metal roofing but don’t know how to vent the roof. I’m planning on insulating and sheetrocking the inside, with 1/2″ ply on top and then the tin. Will the grooves in the tin provide adequate venting or should the space be between the insulation and the ply? Any suggestions??

Terry, one solution is to lay 1x3 strapping as skip-sheathing on top of the plywood (or directly on the rafters, depending on your structural needs). Use the rake boards to vent instead of the traditional ridge & soffit vents. Or, use spray foam as insulation and don't worry about venting. Or, use a ridge cap designed to vent and use propa-vent channels under the plywood for venting. Lots o' options.
