to peel and stick or not to….
Im planning to build a detached garage in the northeast georgia mountains. My question is can I use peel and stick along with rain slicker under my cedar siding? Keeping in mind that I will be using p.t (borate) for sheathing along with spray foam insulation. I read that there is a chance the moisture could be trapped on the interior side of the sheathing.

I think you should skip the bituthane.
be using p.t (borate) for sheathing along with spray foam insulation.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Am I reading this right. You are useing PT for sheething and then useing foam for the insulation?
If that is correct, the use of pt for the sheething means you should not use the foam. Foam is a product that insects are in love with.
I believe that is the reason that Mike Smith a regular on here uses dense pack cellulose insulation.

the spray foam insulation is on the inside of the wall. my concern is the moisture could be trapped (trying to escape) during the winter months. although the the peel and stick is a great defense against moisture ans vapor , maybe i should use 15# felt instead. thanks..
Unless you are building this underground, there is no reason for PT sheathing or the ice and water shield. He assumed your choice of PT was because of termites or other bugs that come from the ground, so if you have termites, you have a valid resonm for the PT. otherwise, it is a waste of money. Also, be aware that you need stainless steel nails or hot dipped galvies for PT lumber
