Hi. I’m repairing some stucco on and around the exterior of my house near the patio door. I’ve removed a 14 foot section of stucco down along the rim joist and foundation junction/joint. There was no weep screed put on the house at all at this junction anywhere around the house. The stucco just goes continuously from the roof eave down the wall and over the face of the foundation.
When I re-stucco should I add a weep screed there now as I’ve read everywhere (at least on new construction) or would it look weird that there would now be a weep screed only along 14 feet of the repair where there is none anywhere else. Also Wouldn’t that now cause a more inviting path for insects to infiltrate the house? I’m tempted to just not put one on because of the horrendous ant problems I’ve had entering the house thru holes here and there in the stucco.
Thanks
