I’m looking for guidance on a toilet venting issue. Is it legal/acceptable to vent a toilet at a side outlet on the closet bend? I just finished an inspection where the plumber tried to rectify the builder’s botched job by adding venting to a bathroom which wasn’t vented originally. The side outlet looks to me as if it’s at risk for blockage.

I would require a 45 degree up angle, but the real plumbers will be along shortly to give you the correct answer.

ya, wouldn't put anymore tile down if that's the final.
If you lived in the codefree woods I suppose one could make some sort of a clean out in the vent pipe for the future plugs that are going to occur. It'd get old pretty fast tho' I reckon.
That plumber sure looked like he was in a hurry.
That stretched out plastic feedline is one waiting to happen.

Ah, the plot thickens.
I had to look at Chicago plumbing code to make sure it was similar to mine & it is.
All vent connections to the pipe they are venting must connect to the top half of the horizontal pipe.
Side inlet 90's are not an approved vent connection.
The correct fix would be to bust out the slab under that wall to the left & use a combination fitting on its' back.
Probably not what you wanted to hear, but that would be the correct method.
A thousand thanks for your time and knowledge. I'm really not too bothered by the news, as it's the plumber's responsibility to get it right from jump. I'm seeing more and more slipshod work lately, even in jurisdictions with strict code enforcement, due to in part to a lack of timely, qualified inspections by municipal code officials.
