Took a billonaire up for a ride

StanFoster | Posted in Photo Gallery on December 17, 2006 05:04am

I had the distinct honor to take a true world heavy weight person up.  This man is  a well known billionaire and I will not reveal his identity…but he is the most dynamic person I have ever run across.  Unbelievable the three hours I was granted with him.  He just so happens to own a SparrowHawk like mine…and when he is not flying that…he is has a fleet of 4 Lear jets….and countless other aircraft to manage his many businesses.

That is Mr._________ I know him too.  He has a house not too far from you IIRC?

I made a stair case for Alice Walton ( speakin of billions) in Bentonville/Rodgers Arkansas...and ya know what? They are just like you and me..people, just plain people.

I've hung out with very adept musicians and pig farmers...we are all the same.

You had /have some great weather for flying recently, no?

This guy I took for a ride last Saturday happens to be building a 20,000 ft home in Chicago...and he needs three stairways built.

I flew up there to his home on a private airstrip in Chicago.  What a freakin home.  He has 60 foot electic operated iron gates that open up...you guessed it...for his airplane to taxi inside his home. He has a beautiful hanger built right inside.  Un freakin believable.

Anyway...I got the job to build three cherry stairways for him.

Stan that is amazing..nothing beats rich customers who adore your work and hobby choices. Man its really a win-win for both of you guys. I see to many Americans who resent the rich...granted I have no customers loaded like this person, but i have never worked for a welfare recipient either. stinky

Lessee.  Rich guy, flies, doing a new house in Chicagoland, private strip for own ride.  We know what the house looks like, its roof features . . .

All we'll need is some recent pilot charts, and Google Earth, and we can put a big asterisk on the spot!

    Ain't the WWW wonderful?

David:   Hey...I appreciate the "Soloman" quote.  But before my head gets too big to get inside my gyrocopter cabin...let me honestly say something.

I am just a speck of dust on this planet...not getting rich...but I am rich by being so impressed with little things.  I am just an average stairhack and nothing more.

Everyone here on Breaktime...have a Merry Christmas and I am glad for the comments appreciating my gyro and stair photos.

"just an average stairhack and nothing more. "The point Soloman makes it that the kings of this earth - those who can afford the best - hire the best of craftsmen to do their work.So your customer(s) place you a step above the stairhack category. If they could find somebody better, they would do so.Now stay out of the gyrokapopter until your head quits spinning;)

as admirable as humility is,  I think you know better - you and I and many/most here are rich beyond the dreams of most of the kings of Soloman's time -

and your skill level raises the average,  no doubt about it - if it didn't,  you wouldn't get the jobs you do - tho I do understand it's always possible to improve -

so,  cheers to all the craftsmen/women,  each and everyone of us,  whatever our skill level -

Very cool. I've hob-nobbed with the other half a bit myself, especially when I lived in the NYC area. It's fun to have lunch with them while they're still in their PJ's or nightgown and have a weighty conversation and then see them later that night on a Bill Moyers special.

Duane was right though, they put their pants on just like the rest of us.
