VERY nice
does it come with the tool boxes in it already or is that extra? what size is it? does it have a place for longer step ladders? how about extension ladders? and the most important is cost? you don't have to tell me exactly how much if you dont want but maybe a ballpark. thanks mike
The trailer does not come with the tool boxes. The trailer is 16' long and is designed to go in a garage so it is low enough to go under the door, and I really have never when doing remodeling where the garage is clean enough to work in any way. Thats why this trailer works so well because in the winter and early spring it rains a lot and this way I have cover. I always hated how long it takes to set up and break down.
This trailer has had a lot of modifications done to it to fit the needs of a custom remodeler and finish carpenter with a lot of storage compartments and vacuum system for the table saw and chop saw, built in compressor and soon to have a generator installed for those times the power goes out. I'm also thinking about a built in router table. In the center of the trailer there is plenty of room it's about 3'w x 12'd x 4'6" h you can put your ladders in there but I am going to build a rack for the roof. the smaller ladders will stay inside.
As far as cost goes go to tooltrailer.com and see what they cost but last time a talked to bill they cost 8,500 plus delivery and he is very reasonable on the delivery cost I'm sure he will customize your trailer to suit your needs.
I was very fortunate to get this trailer because one of my fellow remodeler custom finish guy's in Anacortes wa. had bought this trailer and spent 2 months customizing this trailer and spent another $5,000 outfitting it changing the configuration a little bit to many to list. so for reasons I still don't know he called me up about 5 months ago called me up and said if I had 7,200 its mine with table saw and chop saw and a bunch of misc stuff too.
so he had about 15,000 invested in the trailer after all was said ready to go as you see it.
Really gives one a case of Trailer Envy. Very nice looking. Hope you have lowjack or some sort of tracking system. Was it last season that someone drove off with Diesel Pig's trailer - Christmas in April.Anacortes as in Fidalgo Island, San Juans? Keep my boat there. The ToolBear

Not a bad Idea about the low jack, yes I live in good ole Fidalgo Island near the ferry love it here. I had the same envy till the guy that had it came up too me and asked me if I wanted to buy it!?

@@@Our Habitat trailer (Skagit HfH) has been broken into twice. One of our OC Habitat trailers was just driven off to be looted at leisure. Another was emptied in the night. Yours vs. ours = steak vs. meat balls. You are one yummie target. Got to be a lot of good stuff in there. Just look at the trailer. Didn't come off the lot at Home Depot. I love it there, but not in Nov, Dec., etc. Soon as the gales start, I scamper south for warmth.@@@Live near the ferry - have they started work on extenting the bike trail from the ferry down into town? Word was a developer was on the hook for 1500' of trail - probably at Secret Harbor. Like the Tommy T Trai, but too short. The ToolBear

Luckily I have some pretty good locks that would take a little longer to break into and I have already taken the sticker off the back, kind of good advertising for the #%*?%## thieves. most of my work is in Kirkland and the trailer is parked in driveways and the whole trailer tung arm slides completely out so no one can drive away with the trailer and buy having that arm removable I can pull the trailer in the garage and if I feel its a unsafe area I will take it to my secure yard in juanita where I stay during the week. I used to have a alarm system on my trailers but customers would get frustrated with the alarm going off because of cars going buy with there big bass speakers so I bagged that idea.
I've been watching this thread for a bit until I realized: I almost bought that trailer! I saw it on our local CL and was discussing it with him, but lost my foreman so couldn't move forward. I am so glad one of the BTers bought it so I can hear how well it works. (the removalble tongue gave it away). The guy selling it seemed like a really good person, so I hope the sale went well.
Congrats on an awesome find, and some day I'd like to buy you a cup of coffee and take a closer look at how you've set it up.
Yes, The guy I bought it from is a very fine home builder and remodeling specializing in finish carpentry. If your in anacortes let's do coffee
I would like to see some pictures of the removable tongue as I would like to do it to my trailer.

The contractor got his portion of the trail done So its great walking the dogs on the trail without having to slip and slide around in the mud so thats great but during our last big rain the open trail going straight down to beach slid down hill because they didn't have any fencing put up it ended up being 3' deep of mud going into the trail.
I'm a sail boater so I love the storms the wind and the heavy seas my favorite thing to do when its real windy is to walk done to the beach hop on the ferry to friday harbor enjoy the wild ride hit the Front Street Ale House at Friday harbor Grab a couple ales and the best chili in the country and grab a good book and wait for the ferry to return doesn't get much better than that.
Done slide down the hill, eh?Down here in the fall you better have your sand bags out for the winter. Mud on the street or whatever - they fine you and they cruise, looking for violations. Of course, this assumes you get some rain. There was some in October, once. More in LA. Here it just piddled @@@I'm a sail boater so I love the storms the wind and the heavy seas@@@ I can admire it from the beach. Do not want to be out in Rosario with a gale against the tide. Ya, I have a friend in Ramona california who say's the same thing I like that too. Maybe some day I can work where its warm during the winter, How was it to transfer your business o the other side
I hooked up with a boss who did not mind that I took a "few" weeks in the summer. Being highly reliable has benefits. He doesn't have to push, pull or kick start, just wind up and set down. Of my summer standin he said - He did OK, then he forgot when the job was, and then he forgot where the job was. Tomorrow I am in an attic, pulling 12/3 where he pulled 12/2 for a fart fan, plus a whole list of punchlist items. The ToolBear

How tall is it? Do you have to duck under the door?
"It is what it is."
Not on topic, but Chicago where have you been?
Yeah, I've been pretty busy. I purchased a new home (my dream home). An old Victorian in it's original condition.
Well the bank at the time said I could purchase the new house and keep the old one. I couldn't believe it. So I have been working like a dog to fix up the old one to sell it and then the market fell and couldn't sell the home.
So, after a year, my father decided to retire and move here to the Albany area from Chicago and move in to the old home.
I am loving every moment I spend with him. It has been 10 years since I have moved to NY and I am trying to make up some lost time with my best friend, co-worker, and father.
"It is what it is."
Cool!
Wondered what happened to you.

I wish the pictures were larger ... it's hard to see anything :D
I noticed a lable that says http://www.tooltrailer.com . That site has more information. For example, they say it will fit under a 7ft. garage door. So, you probably won't be banging your heads.
I saw a plumber put a flat bed on a Chevy Luv truck, and enclose it in a similar manner. It was a very efficient set-up, with no 'dead space' in the middle.
My only concern is how well the open doors stand up to gusts of wind.
No problem with the wind the trailer is well
That is a sweet trailer you have there. I like fast setup. I was just on their website checking out the trailers. I'm in the market for a trailer. One thing that concerns me about these trailers is the small amount of storage for materials. Is that an issue for you? Do you not pick up any of your materials. I'm a remodeling contractor but most importantly I do all my own cabinetry. Doesn't look like I can fit many cabinets for a kitchen in there. PLease let me know.
"When the job is perfect, we're almost done."
I suspect that when you add up all the time it takes to set up improvised work stations at a job, and the time it takes to secure at the end of the day, you'd come out ahead if you just drove off to gat another trailer for your materials.
I would have gave $7,200 for that in about two seconds. Man, what a sweet deal! Very nice.
you can pickup materials but yes you are limited for hauling anything big. I have a cargo van and a box van for doing what you do, and the cargo van is plenty for most of the things I do.
I bought a Tooltrailer on ebay a couple of months ago for 3500$.
You can see my posts at 119683.1 or search dream trailer.
I have been very happy so far.
I do have water issues as it has rained for the last 30 days straight and every time I drive it leaks.
I am going to unload all my tools and weatherproof the wheelwells and restick all the weatherstripping.
One of the things I noticed is people don't know what is in the trailer as it is so foreign to them.
The other thing is I get alot of ribbing about it being a taco stand. So much that I am looking for a chuck wagon for a tow vehicle so I can match the trailer ;>)
Those toolboxes are way cool but they have to way alot without tools in them.
I am using the table saw area to store all big bins and benches and sawhorses etc. but am still debating the idea of having a workstation there.
I really like the long tongue for access to the front door and the fact that I can put 8' sheet goods in the bed of the truck without issue and by jackknifing the trailer I have easy access to the bed.
I still haven't put in the microwave but thats coming soon, as it is starting to get cold and I want to able to have hot cocoa on the job.

The microwave is not a bad Idea I,m going to do that! maybe a porta potti too, oh thats right I have a 5 gallon bucket for that.
The trailer is mostly all aluminum and tows great I have had the trailer fully loaded with about 40 sheets of drywall and mud and all my tools and no problem.
It stays completely dry because of the one piece construction on the roof and all the doors have good gaskets on them.
Make sure you lock the hasp with something as mine bounced open today and the side door caught a tree in my driveway today and I am totally bummed.
