ToolFetch.com ….

JeffBuck | Posted in General Discussion on February 6, 2004 02:18am

Found another excellent tool mail order web site.

Had a question about the initial order … they called right back to answer …

Order came earlier than expected … everything’s as ordered and works.

Seem like very nice people to deal with ..

and .. the prices are great.

Only one order …. but very happy with them.

Might have found a replacement for amazon … they killed amazon’s prices too.

Thanks for passing that along, I needed a replacement for Amazon. I still haven't made it out to that used tool store but when I do I'm still gonna stop by and buy you a cold one. Maybe two if toolfetch.com treats me well.

I'm matching tool donors to a church mission to Haiti - we're shipping a bus converted to a medical facility in (now it looks like) April and can fill it with clothes, tools and all sorts of stuff needed in that poorest of all countries. A few hand tools or power tools can provide a livelihood for an otherwise destitute family. Please email me if you have tools to donate.

      Good info too Bob.

I was so impressed I was going to post right after I made the order and spoke to them .... decided to wait and see if they actually came thru.

I have mixed feelings about them after my order.

I ordered a case from them for my Milwaukee saw. Not many places even listed one. Their website said it was in stock. So I ordered it on January 29th.

I checked the order status on their website several times. It always said that the order status was "sent to warehouse".

Tuesday, February 3rd the thing showed up on my doorstep. They didn't have it in stock at all - They had it shipped from Millwaukee's factory.

Just checked, and the website still says the order status is "sent to warehouse" even though it showed up on my front porch 2 days ago.

Kinda frustrating, but I figure I'll give 'em a shot again.

Hey it was in stock and they did not say that they owned the warehouse now did they.

Drop shipping is common. Amazon does some of it also.

I order a bunch of stuff from amazon Monday. I chose the free "slow" shipping.

It was suppose to ship in 5 parts. The first part was shipped the 3rd from ND and went by Fedex Air. It was delivered yesterday.

The 2nd part was shipped on the 4 for a deliver date of Fed 11-12. But it was sent by UPS ground from Kansas and was on the local delivery truck yesterday morining, but canceled because of the weather.

"Hey it was in stock and they did not say that they owned the warehouse now did they."

To me, "in stock" means they have the thing.

A minor point, maybe. But it bugged me. Seems a bit dishonest.Don't be redundant by repeating yourself

My stuff seemed to come from the manufacturer also ...

          came damn quick too.

I got the feeling after talking to them that thry drop ship.

I can see your point ... about thinking it was in stock in their warehouse ...

But in the end .... they got what ya asked for pretty quick.

Just think it's the way of the world now ...

I stopped trying to track anything from Amazon years ago ... they never had a clue as to it's where abouts ... always bugged me.... a company that's build around shipping .. can't kep track of it's own products.

Now .. I just order and hope.

"But in the end .... they got what ya asked for pretty quick."

I guess that's true. But why even set up a website for tracking orders if it's days behind? I checked again this morning. Three days after I got the package it finally says it's been shipped.

I wonder how long before it says it's been delivered?A tyrant...is always stirring up some war or other, in order that the people may require a leader [Plato]

ya gout a point there ...

guess I'm a bit used ot it... after dealing with amazon once too many.

Witht them ... their stuff would be days late ... and they'd still have no idea what warehouse it was supposed to come from ... then ... 15 min later... it'd be on the front porch.

I'll wait till the toolfetch stuff is late before I get concerned.

The way I've found the amazon site to work is that they can't bill you till it ships, so it is in there best interest to get it gone as quick as possible. So it is my belief that the free shipping is the way to go unless you need it in a day.

Now that your getting that Bosch by all means look into getting a 15 minute charger. Wow what a great unit. It just removes the battery problem. It also does all there new style batteries from 9.6-24V. been using it for about 3 months and it's just great. And if it does what they say it does" doubles the life of the battery" It pays for itself.

The units I'm using are 14.4v, when I checked local for some extra batteries they wanted like 80$ so I had to go online and got acouple for 40$. I also like the drill cause it's1500rpm, it is the brute so it's faster then the regular.
