wondering what you guys usr to install aluminum soffit. I use a narrow gage staple gun. works fine but if there was something without needing an air compressor i would like to find it. i don’t mean hand nailing

Hand stapler. With F-channel (or J) on the wall and a wraparound fascia-hand stapler holds it in place fine till you get back and wrap the fascia.
you mean a regular Arrow type stapler? a squeeze the handel type?

Fits in the pouch, light, no ergonomics (I've lost faith in anything else that's supposed to be easier for the user......................)
Never had a problem with rust or aluminum / steel corrosion.
But if you hunt, you might find stainless staples..........
Sometimes simple is the best way.
But then again, I'm 63 and set in my ways.

A nail with a head at a minimum or hex head stainless screws. Hand stapled soffit blows around like tissue paper when the staples rust through. I have to admit that it has been a real source of job security over the past 30 years though.

No rust, no more blow off till the aluminum fascia flys off around here.
But if in a higher wind zone or if you want the pc of mind that it'll never leave the building-then sure.
Any problem in the heat with buckling?
We are in a high wind zone and hand staples will get you turned down by the inspectors. Aluminum and vinyl soffit has to be fastened every 12 inches front to back. Nowdays almost all soffits here are only 12 inches wide because anything wider requires heavier truss tails and more engineering.
I've never seen soffit buckle but I've seen poorly installed metal roofs that would make you seasick.

I worked for a commercial builder, he took me down to the outer banks of NC to help frame his folks beach house. Interesting building techniques out there, hell I was amazed to beat the band that we had to climb a ladder to get up to the deck to sheet the first floor.......
Learning regional differences here is a heck of a lot easier than going and doing them in that locale.
Sure slept good listening to the waves.
