Hi All,
First off I’d like to thank all you who helped steer me in the right direction concerning a PLS laser I’m after. I decided on the PLS2 but had to invest in more pressing materials. I’ll get one in the next couple of weeks.
In the meanwhile I’ve seem some torpedos, CST, Robotolz, Stabila and others that seem ok for certain uses like a quick reference or very close range.
I like the idea of the Stabila but am looking for some input. I’ve played with the others and they seem nice and bright with a relativley sahrp 1/8″ dot at 20 feet.
Whatya think?

I have used a similar level this one made by Stanley, it works well except when you get the pencil in the spot to make a mark it is so bright I can't see the exact position of the pencil. This is more apparent at shorter distances. The other problem and this may be a design issue with the stanley but the darn thing has only on flat side and therefore you can't get it flat against say a wall and the floor etc. The other issue would be to check the accuracy of the threaded tripod mount before you purchase.

I have the robo torpedo. The laser itself is ok, th problem is in leveling the unit, because of the short body. Actually it levels ok in the long direction, but getting it level across the narrow body is a trick. And if you can't level it two ways, the third beam isn't plumb.
Do it right, or do it twice.
