How much can a two wheel tow dolly pull? Can it handle a 3,000 lbs vehicle? I am going to pull with a truck that can 3,000 easy.
Thanks

Capacity should be on the dolly. 3k vehicle isn't uncommon. Used to be these things were used a lot for towed vehicles behind Motorhomes, flat (all 4 on ground) most popular now.
If you're gonna rent, they'll tell you what it's rated for.
Sometimes you can find them cheap at RV places if you're gonna buy.
Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.
It will do it. Half of the weight is on the ground with the back tires.
i have pulled a couple hundred cars with these when i was in the car bussiness.
anything that will go on the toter you can pull, like someone said you still have one axle carring the weight on the ground.
biggest thing i used to pull was the e250 econoline van, tires would rub each side of ramp.but it would get them home.
heres my 2 cents on them. they pull great, [got a ticket with mine one time 94 in a 60!]
they put very little tounge weight on the tow vehicle.
always pull with the front wheels on the toter. if the fronts are on the ground and the front end has any slop it wil sway. but if it's rear wheel drive with the rear axle on the ground, you have to pull the driveshaft.
always remove driveshaft, don't tie it up [i know this because i have bought 2 driveshafts and thank god no one got hurt when they came out...]
tighten your ratchet straps as tight as you can, check them in 50 miles and resnug.
put a saftey chain from the vehicle on the toter to the toter,so if the straps would come off your staying on the toter.
look for one that the turntable tilts down, then when you pull on it flips down and you don't have to mess with ramps.instaed of ramps that you have to drive on then remove.
never pull in where you have to back up,you will only do it once.
the older i get ,
the more people tick me off
