Are track light heads made to standard base sizes like light bulbs? I have seen reference to h, i and j on some. Are these like e notation on tungsten? Inquiring minds want to know!

I just went through choosing lights for a new addition, which included some tracks. As far as I could determine, there are a number of track manufacturers who make different styles and sizes and the heads are not interchangeable between track styles or between one manufacturer and another. Seemed like a pretty silly system to me. We wanted certain heads for one place and different ones for another and ended up with three different tracks which needed three different style heads.
Crap. I need a different answer! Having same problem.http://www.etherhuffer.typepad.com

They're all different. And from what I know those designatons are used solely by a track-lighting manufacturor called "W.A.C. Lighting". They make their stuff to be compatible with those 3 brands.
They have a wwebsite you can check it out.
