I thought this might be of interest to you guys with trailers.
The tires that come on most enclosed trailers and sold at HD and Northern etc. for trailer use only, are very thin plys.
I had one going bald and then some cord showing and I had a tire ready to put on but I was holding out to a rainy day.Well that was a mistake fortunately it blew as I was driving up my driveway last night.
Anyways upon examination I cannot get over the fact that the rubber was so thin, literally thinner than a rubber roof membrane. I know I should of changed it out sooner but I was under the impression that trailer tires with higher pressures were thicker and now I know better.
Anyways just a friendly warning if they are bald or near there isn’t much time left.

Good heads up. I seem to recall reading (or hearing) that trailer tires should be replaced every five years or so regardless of apparent wear.
