I just completed my travertine backsplash in the kitchen. I got the design idea from last year’s Portland area Street of Dreams.

awesome.
NICE!!!
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
WOW!!! What a Ride!
Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!
Nice work. The counter and sink look great as well.

Very nice work.
Real nice.
I really like the door hardware. Haven't seen anything like it around here yet.
It's not too late, it's never too late.
Beautiful...Travertine is a dream of mine in our kitchen...
Very, very nice! I can't wait to see the switch and outlet covers you make out of the leftover travertine.
very nice tile work ,now for a couple "where did you get" questions. first it looks like that is granite tile, where did you find 24" deep tile? also i am a big fan of travatine, but haven't seen it in that brick type size, where? thanks larry
hand me the chainsaw, i need to trim the casing just a hair.
Larry,
I bought the granite tiles (18" x 26.5") for $20 per sq ft at tile for less - they are in most west coast states. Here is a link to my blog with the details.
I cut the travertine from 18" x 18" tiles down to the 3" x 6" brick size. They had them on a special at HD for about $3.50 a sq ft. My DW wanted a brick look, and I wanted travertine - which equals about 10 hours of time on the tile saw for the bricks and the diamond pieces. Here is a link to the details.
