My HO want’s to do the remaining roof. I used 18” perfections, cb, and bostich triple galv nails ( max nails bled, BAD)
The treated shingles are more..like 240 a sq. vs. 165..what’s the benefit?
Anyone usem? do I HAVE to go with SS nails ?
seems kinda pricy..my per sq. jumps WAY up..I am using about 3 ciols per sq of nails..cost is roughly, 25, per..sq, that is.
Of course if theywould all be nice and wide..fuggetaboutit..that ain’t gonna happen..I still split the really wide shingles..I don’t trust them to not split or cup badly.
any help?

It's been around here (B.C.) forever. I have used it before, would use
it again. It does have a slight pressure treated color to it, but it will
silver up.
Last time I did any roofing (about a year ago), I think I paid $220
Canadian for it. regards
Thanks...
is there a rentention #? or a planned benefit in yrs?
Must be relativly new around here..noone knows what I am asking...( not sure I do)

I do think the product holds up better/longer,but I am a carpenter
first, so I don't deal with shakes/shingles day in day out. On my clients
houses with p.t.shakes put on in 1980/81 ,the roofs still look like they
have a lot of live left. Some of the non p.t. roofs in the same area have
been replaced . If it meant a couple thousand more over a whole house
I would use the p.t.........I would just use good galv. nails if price is
playin' in......probably will out last a cedar roof.
Wish I was more computer savy I would post some pic's to show
you what I'm babbling on about,sorry..........regards
Thanks bro..it does make sense..

Oh ya, color isn't that bad ,you won't notice it as it ages....but if
you have some non p.t. on a diffrent roof level......
If treated with ACQ, I would think SS is the way to go, IMO. And I hear ya on the price, but what are you gonna do...
