Can I install Trex over and existing subfloor in a covered porch that does not get wet? The subfloor is 30 years old and in perfect shape other than one area near a door. The moisture issue there has been fixed by installing a gutter.
If it is ok to put the trex over the subfloor, will the additional thickness prevent the trex hidden fasteners from penetrating far enough into the floor joists?
Thank you!

If it is actually a dry area, why not use a flooring for indoor space such as vinyl planks?
If you need to use a low maintenance decking for some other reason I would would switch to a PVC tongue and groove porch flooring. Otherwise the gaps between the Trex boards will fill up with dirt and crud.
A interesting idea but that's not the look we are going for. The deck on the front of the house and a small deck leading up to this space are both Trex. I also don't think it will get any more crud buildup than if we did the trex with a screen underneath , which we would need to keep the bugs out, but I could be wrong
