Hi. I have front porch with 7 steps stairs. The treads are 5/4 x 6 PT from which the stain is weathering off. I would like to change the deck and treads to Trex but how slippery does it get?
Because of kids, who usually don’t look at where they’re going, I would not use Trex if slipperiness is significant going down the steps, especially when it has gotten wet.
What is your experience with this material? Thank you all in advance.

RE: Trex Slippery
HI,
I just installed 400sq/ft of TREX Accents decking. This specific decking has two sides...one side is simulated wood grain and the other side is flat (no texture). I installed the simulated wood grain side up on my deck and from my experience with rain and snow...the trex material is NOT slippery when wet. The simulated wood grain side has enough texture to aid in traction. I can't speak for the non-texture side.
trex
Thank you for the reply. Your experience was just what I was looking for.
