Does anyone know how I might go about selecting baseboard trim for my finished basement? I’m looking for something that fits with the 1920’s Arts & Crafts style, but I’m unsure where to view pictures, samples, etc.
I’d thought of using 4″ wide oak boards with a simple cap. Will the width of the boards (properly dried) cause any problems with cupping?
Or this a better way?
Thanks for the info!

Depends on what tools you own or have access to. The 4" Oak is nice, but pricey. You could buy a sheet of Oak ply, rip it into the width you want, and apply an oak cap and base shoe to cover up the nail holes on the wide baseboard. Stain and finish before you install. If you do use ply, check how the stain looks on it and the solid. They ply tends to be darker.
