The on/off switch on my trim router, failed in the on position about a year ago. I have several, so I sat it on a shelf, and forgot about it for a while.
I ordered a new switch, and brushes, a few weeks back. I installed the new switch and brushes this afternoon.
I thought every thing was pretty straight forward. Cut the wires as close as possible to the crimp connector to the power cord, and crimp in the new switch.
I put it back together and plugged it in. It makes a quarter turn and then just hums.
Anybody with suggestions of what is wrong, and how to fix it?

It forgot the words?
Ok, maybe ya dropped a part or something inside? Housing bolts too tight? Brushes not seated? Bearings OK?
Open it back up and try the armature by hand.
Maybe try putting the old brushes back in.

SWAG would be the new brushes. Can you turn the shaft by hand and feel is there is anything hanging up>
