Reminds me of the toilet in the apartment where #1 son lived for several months. The side of the tank was recessed into the wall, and the toilet seat scraped the wall when you raised and lowered it.
(Turned out the place didn't have a valid CO -- the toilet was the least of the problems -- and the place ended up getting condemned, so they had to move out.)

Are you serious? What do you mean by "trimming out" this door?
Either the door should swing out, or they should have used a smaller door.
No, all they really need is just a little "doggie door" on the edge of the door to clear the stool.
In science it often happens that scientists say, "You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken," and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion. --Carl Sagan
