I’m putting a Craftsman style trim in a room, using 4″ casing on the sides of the windows and doors. I’ve got two pairs of double hung windows installed next to each other with a 7″ space between them. My intention was to gang the trim so that there is a single 7″ board between the windows and 4″ on the outside of each, and then use a single apron, sill, and header that spans both sets. The problem is that the windows are misaligned by about 1/4″ in height. I was planning on using a 1/4″ reveal, so if I split the difference, I’ll have a 1/8″ reveal on one window and 3/8″ on the other. This can’t be an unusual problem. Is there a standard solution? Thanks.

The standard solution is to line them up correctly. Otherwise you'll have to try to fool the eye. You could possibly rabbet the trim to fit over the high side.
You could...
...align the top trim with the lower window and hang it down 1/4" on the higher one. This will hide the difference better than an uneven reveal. When you install the apron cover both bottom jambs and shim under it at the lower window.
For that matter....
....you could mill a piece of matching wood and add it to the jamb of one window so that they line up.
Make the floor 2" higher on
Make the floor 2" higher on one side vs the other. No one will notice the windows don't line up.
Misaligned windows
I love this stuff...it's the joy of remodeling...solving problems. I'd trim them individually.
