Trimming out cracking cathedral ceiling
Hi Gents:
I’m searching for a trim or repair solution for a cathedral ceiling that has repeatedly cracked at the peak. It’s a scissor truss construction with drywall covering so it’s understandable that the mud in the peak does not have a chance.
We looked at laying a piece of trim up there to hide the cracks and let them work, but the joint is not straight and it did not look right.
Any suggestions on how to hide this joint or repair it so that it does not keep coming back? Thanks for the help.

Gary,
Maybe you've tried but how about a bead of caulking at that joint? Its flexible so will be more forgiving of joint movement than hard mud. I have done it before with pretty good results.

you can use more prominent trim - maybe a three piece build-up - hide the crooked and crack at the same time- -
I would suggest at least two coats of Durabond 90 over fiberglass tape.
Then finish with regular joint compound.

Caulk it, paint to match the ceiling.
Scissor trusses are notorious for drywall tape cracking along the peak seam .
