Since someone brought up the subject of central vacs, I thought I would try once more to make mine work (Filter Queen) and stop using the shop vac to vacuum the house. It just doesn’t have enough power to suck up feathers, let alone dirt. I vacuumed the filter , the cannister is cleaned, and fresh filter on the cannister. Last time it did this, I cleaned the top filter and it worked again. I blew out the hose with the blowin’ end of the shop vac, and stuck the shop vac on the inlet end to try to suck anything down. I went around to each outlet as the vacuum was running, and blew out a match to see how the smoke tracked, and see if there was any leakage at the outlet not being used. Not that I mind using the shop vac, but I kinda miss the rug beater bar from the c.v. Any ideas??? It hasn’t been used enough to be worn out. ;^)
