Hi all,
Earlier this month I posted a question about removing a certain tub drain. 124116.1
Well my buddy finally called me today to work on it. Attached are pictures of the removed piecese.
If you recall the overflow had a nut that fastened it thru the tub and into the overflow elbow. No problem I found that the dumbell wrench removed it.
The drain was a bit more difficult, as it was pretty much frozen. I shot it with plenty of pb blaster but still no luck. I had to hack on it a bit.
The linkage wasn’t the rocker linkage that I had assumed, the linkage was a solid bar turned 90 degrees and the whole thing lifted in the pipe when the lever was turned to lift and lower the stopper.
I didn’t know it, but today I found out the peices are Kohler.
We worked on it today, removed the old and are waiting for the old galvanized pipe and trap to be power augered.
The difficulty we also ran into is that the drain hole in the tub is 2.25 inches. Larger than most replacement kits availaible off the shelf at Lowes. Supply house was closed today we will check into getting replacement parts to fit while waiting for the drain to be snaked.
I was worried before hand about the size of the pieces. It was all good stuff solid heavy brass. My first remark was to get the guts and just rebuild it. My frioend said he wanted new.
Attached are some pics.

You may be able to use a drain for a whirpool tub. Just cut it down to fit the tub.
Thanks.Webby
There is usually one good supply house in every town or area.
That where you want to go.

Yes, Greshams plumbing. Of course closed on Saturdays.
I know better than to do plumbing on a weekend but it is when my buddy wanted to work on it.
I know better than to start at three in the afternoon, but that is when we started.
Now I have angered the plumbing gods!
When I found out it was Kohler I suggested we try to rebuild it. Nope.
I had also suggested one of the new toe kick or push and turn stoppers, but that actually wouldn't have worked they are too small, and the threads in the drain shoe, are fine thread.

The tub waste in your pictures is still made by Kohler.
It probably is in stock at a full-line plumbing supply house.
