Just looking for some feedback on this situaton. The tub surround that I’m tiling is “wavy” along the ceiling line and corners. I was thinking of “incorporating my taping tecnhiques into the tub surround. What I mean by that is I use corner bead with the tape already attached on all my inside and outside corners, when I finish my drywall. This always gives me a straight in or out corner regardless of the wavy line from ceiling to floor. What do you think about this idea in the tub sorround? The reason I ask is that I installed cement board in the tub surround. If it was just green-board I would definitely do it, but wasn’t sure if it was a good idea on cement board. I don’t see why not, but always like to hear from others and get opinions. Thanks guys.

I'm not 100% clear on your question. Are you talking about using this tape on the cement backer board under the tile, or just where backer board hits the ceiling? All joints and corners under the tile should be finished with fiberglass tape and mortar before tiling. At the ceiling where it is dry, I don't think it matters too much what you use.
