Tyvek Drainwrap 2x price of Tyvek Homewrap

Hi Guys,
I have a quick question. I was going to use Tyvek Drainwrap on my project http://www2.dupont.com/Tyvek_Weatherization/en_US/products/residential/resi_drainwrap.html
The problem is that only sources I’ve been able to find charge literally double the price of normal Tyvek.
I mean I could literally put up two layers of the regular Homewrap for the same price. http://www2.dupont.com/Tyvek_Weatherization/en_US/products/residential/resi_homewrap.html
I’ve reviewed the Fine Homebuilding article about using furring strips https://www.finehomebuilding.com/how-to/articles/siding-with-rain-screen-walls.aspx?ac=fp
Do you guys have any experience with Drainwrap? What do you think?

What is the rest of the system?
Can you tell us the rest of the wall assembly? wood frame / sheeting / exterior siding?
depending on your exterior surface and your local building codes, you may want or need to use a drainage plane behind that surface. If so, the drainwrap may be good value as compared to typical tyvec and a strapping detail.
The basic logic is that the tyvec prevents moisture from passing into the wall, but because it is a flat sheet surface, it also holds the moisture against the exterior surface using capillary force. If that exterior surface is know to have problems with prolonged moisture contact, then a drainage plane is an important addition. By adding a drainage cavity, we remove the majority of contact between the two surfaces, and allow moisture to evaporate or drain down and out. The drainwrap is a single product that accomplishes this. and is simpler to install than many other rain-screens.
Be sure and check with typar as to the acceptable exterior claddings for the product, as well as the window and door flashing details.
Hope that helps. Cheers!
RE: Tyvek Drainwrap
Instead of Tyvek Drain Wrap you could also think about applying a Waterway Drainage mat to your exterior and just use building paper or the WWplus thats already attached to Typar. It may be a little more expensive but you will create an actual drainage plain and a real path for the water to escape. Take a look, http://www.stucoflex.com/rainscreen_drainage_mats.htm
