Was totally intent on buying their hybrid saw once the Christmas bills came in. It was much more competitively priced than the other Hybrids out there and $745. Looked at it last night and they’ve jumped 20% to $895. Given I can get the Jet saw locally and would need to pay shipping on the Grizzly plus buy the movable base it is now no better priced than any of the others. I guess they were following the Woodtek which also raised their prices since the FH reviews.
So does anyone out there have a Delta, Jet or Woodtek Hybrid saws and if so what do you think of them. Also does anyone have the Rigid TS3650? Looks pretty nice as I can actually see it somewhere. I may have to go back to Open base to afford one of these things now.
Figure I’ll try calling Grizzly and asking about it but doubt it will do much good. This is really killing me (my saw burnt out actually the week before Christmas making a present for my wife, so I finally had the excuse I needed. No great loss it was a very poor junky Craftsman).

Bump,
For plenty of pros and cons discussion on diffeent brand saws you should post this over at knots too.

What is a "hybrid saw"?
A compromise between a cabinet saw and a contractors saw.Usually 120/240v, <3HP, <3 belts, <300#, <$1000 ,<30" rip.a good choice for Garage shops or serious hobbyshops.also a popular label for Home cheapo type diy impulse buyers.if it comes in a box you can load into a shopping cart, then it ain't what I consider a hybrid.but then again you could put a bottle opener notch on a stanley handsaw and call it a hybrid.YMMV.

according to statistical analysis, "for some time now, bears apparently have been going to the bathroom in the woods."
I have the ridgid saw and I couldn't be happier. The fence stays true, the top was flat within a .001 and the fact that the extensions were cast iron was a plus. I love the mobile base and have used it often for moving it around my limited shop space.
I don't like the the blade insert, There are no leveling screws in the middle of the plate, so it sags Not a big deal for what I use it for, but other than that, I am extremely happy with the power, mobility and features of this saw.
Oh, and you can't argue with the price!
I've got the Delta in left tilt version with standard 32" fence and am quite happy with it. Not perfect but fit and finish is pretty good and it came out of the box already squared up. The 1 3/4 hp motor is adequate for my purposes but you wouldn't call the saw overpowered. Mine came with a 3/4hp dust collector bundled for about $750.
Jim, hybrid saw has trunnions mounted to the saw table like a contractor saw instead of the base and motor is underhung inside an enclosed base like a cabinet saw rather than rear mounted.
I think they are closing out that saw soon... the new version has a granite top to it... search the Ridgid forums.
Keep an eye out.. you might score a deal. But if you have immediate needs... you may have to pay full freight.
If you have time I would look for a used unisaw. I have seen plenty under $1000. I picked up a 3 year old left tilt, 3hp with the 50 inch bies. and mobile base for $600.
*edit* Just make sure it isn't 3 phase.
