I am installing a 3/4″ oak hardwood floor and am going to be undercutting a brick fire place hearth for the flooring. I’m planning on renting jamb saw and using a masonry blade to do the cutting. My question is what to do in the corner where the brick meets the wall to be able to cut all the way through the brick. Should I just run the jamb saw into the wall until the end of the brick is cut? I am replacing the baseboard in the room so any cuts will be hidden. Is there a proper (i.e. professional) way to do this?
Thanks,
George

Can't say as I've seen that detail b/4.
I think most times I've done this, I've run the hardwood to a picture framed flooring pc around the perimeter of the brickwork.
I know I wouldn't want to be around there when you cut into that masonry. Running into the house framing will be a tough cut with that blade.
Best of luck.
