Undrlaymnt for floating flr ovr radiant
I’ve got a staple-up radiant floor in the great room of the ski house I’m building on Mt. Hood in Oregon.
Engineered wood floor needs membrane underlayment (8″ wide, pine surface; manufacturer unknown);
Choices seem to be plastic (with little dots); foam; recycled fiber (almost like jute); or cork (very expensive);
What’s the best choice for this application? How much does it matter?
I realize R-value should be as low as possible to maximize heat transfer and efficiency and avoid having to go to higher water temps.
Thanks,
Scott
