Seems like a great idea, though I don’t have $400 to spend on a charger right now

Saw this thread just after replying to a Li-ion thread.
From the link in the first post:
Quick Charge Time
15 Min. or less with 2.4 Ah Ni-Cd
10 Min. or less with 2.0 Ah Ni-Cd or smaller
30 Min. or less with 2.0 Ah Ni-MH or smaller
60 Min. or less with 3.0 Ah Li+ or smaller
Note that the quoted charge time for a 25% higher A-H Li-ion to NiCd is 4X. Reading between the lines this says that the charger aint too kind to Li-ion.
Even if they sold for 10% of the asking price would NOT put a Li-ion battery on this charger.
I do have a Lister NiCd charger that retails for over $300 that does a great job on any type NiCd or Pb/H2SO4 battery.
Not too sure what you are saying about the "aint too kind to Li-ion"
Is a slower charge hard on the battery? Seems I have usually read that fast charging was harder on batteries than slow charge.
I must be missing something here - first time for that lol
I like the idea of having one charger that could charge four different kinds of batteries. Not sure I buy into their claims of increasing life and runtime and reviving old batteries.
Any further insight is appreciated
"aint too kind to Li-ion"
What I meant was that with good technology, you can charge a Li batt fast. What the specs say between the lines is that they have a "cheap to implement" Li charge algorithm, which also means the Li is not being charged at the optimum rates, and possibly at the wrong voltages.
