Do any of you hire unskilled high school summer help? If so what rates do you pay? I know laws prevent them from doing certain jobs and running different tools. Just curious.

I was doing a renovation in the summer a couple of years ago, with quite a bit of carpet and sheetrock demo. I hired my neighbor, a teacher, and her friend and paid them $10/hr cash. They were happy to have it and did a good job, and they were reliable.

The last few years, 10-12 for labor with some clue and decent working.
Now, it might be closer to minimum wage but I am still paying my summer guy 11
He is trustworthy, good guy, honest, will take on anything I ask of him and makes me a little money so I can afford to pay him as such.
and will work 2 days or 6 days per week, depending upon my needs.
We pay $10 an hour here in denver
$8-10 in Columbus, GA
Paying a couple guys $14/hr to help with some landscape work.
