Im not sure who I talked to last week here about using Paslode Roundrive nails in the DW clipped head nailer, but to all interested, they work fine! I didnt know if they would work since they have a roundhead design, but everything is good to go. Paslode Prostrips also work fine. When I put the rafters on my new shed I’m gonna try some cheapo wire collated clipped head nails and see how they work, since the gun’s still well within warranty.

The second you pull the trigger wit an off brand nail in the gun, your warrannty is toast!
Stick with ONLY the specific type of nail for your nailer.
You will slowly wearout the mechanism and you will be left with a 300$ boat anchor! (a small boat)

I own and use a pc fc350, and I don't really have a problem with off brand nails, but I wouldn't recommend using a round head in a clipped head nailer or vice versa. I reall don't see how it would work unless you were extremely lucky and both the nails and gun were very close in degree. To clarify clipped head nailers use nails collated at a different degree than round head nailers. I would stick with whatever type nail your gun is made for.

Sorry if maybe I confused you with my original post. I did not mean I would use full round head nails in a clip-head nailer; rather, I was saying that the Paslode "Roundrive" nails, while having a round head, are collated with the same degree as clipped-head nails and are intended to satisfy "full round head" code requirements while being able to be used in the more prevalent clip-head nailers. In addition to having the correct collation angle, the Roundrives' heads' trailing edges are flush with the shank of the nail, like normal clip-heads. Compare the Roundrives with true clip-heads (i.e., Sencos) and you'll see what I'm talking about.
