As a result of some storm damage, I need to have some repairs done on the 18′ tall ceilings in my greatroom. The home is 10 years old with poor sealing and insulation.

My thought was to take out the PAR bulbs in the can lights and replace them with LED modules to reduce electrical draw and heat loss from air leakage.

Can I stuff the can light canister with Roxul in this scenario to add more insulation and resistance to air flow? The cans are IC rated.

Removing the cans completely is the ideal solution but beyond my budget right now.
