I am installing uponr xpress trsk over a slab. I will be installing tile over top. I am going to use 1/4 backer board and was looking for suggestions on installing the backer. I was thinking of glueing it to the panel and tapcons. The total thickness will be 7/8 can I get by with 1 3/4 tapcons. Any suggestions on what adhesive to use. I was thinking if using FRP adhesive.

Never heard of it and wondered if you missed letters on the keyboard…..
Did you read this?

Or, are you needing advice on the fasteners?
I have read that. I was wondering if 13/4 tapcons would work. On will have 7/8 in the concrete instead of the minimum 1. Also looking for opinions on what to glue the tile backer to the aluminum face of the panels with.
I cannot speak of the frp adhesive, as I’ve only used it to glue frp panels to drywall.
In a kennel to glue the frp to drywall and vinyl base to the frp, I found PL PREMIUM to be my glue of choice. Those dogs haven’t been able to remove any of these from the substrate. Admittedly, one did manage chew off a small pc of base. Trying to easily replace the base was NOT easy. A chisel and serious effort was all I could do to replace the pc.
I don’t know if PL Premium come in a spreadable form but I do know it works on a lot of things.
As to the depth of the tapcon, the depth may be needed to secure fully (1”) in order to be able to torque down the product. You find that it’ll cam out before pull it it tight. All in can advise is try it and see (before you glue down.
