I did some neatening up of the water service entrance over the weekend. The Wilkins water pressure regulator had been installed upside down (among other things) with the adjusting screw up and the writing on the castings upside down. In the new setup the regulator is right side up. Water pressure before the change was 60 psi, and now it’s up to 72 psi. (Ahead of the regulator it’s 110 psi.)
So it looks like gravity must work with or against the spring in the regulator by a fairly significant amount. Just one of those odd little pieces of information we pick up along the way working on the house….
