Prescriptive codes don't address the connection at less common angles, so base the connection off more typical ones using bolts, structural screws, blocking, and steel tension ties.

John once again I've got to thank you.

Did you get your Flash animations working?NO!!!!! dag nabbitt. It opens a window asking me what program to open this attach. with but that is as far as I can get it to go.
Just wanted to bump up Butch's thread again, and let y'all know I can't use his pickup cap thingy. It looks like just exactly wheat I need, too. I sure wish it did fit. But it came off a GMC Sonoma, and the truck I'm using has a larger bed. Hopefully one of you other guys can make use of it...
Reality bites, and I have the teeth marks to prove it

John, once again thanks, that worked, opening in IE.Went to the Mike Smith thread on "Face Lift"and checked out the before and after, that is pretty slick.
Did anyone else talk to you about your shell yet?
I have a nice body, and its in my trunk.
Did anyone else talk to you about your shell yet?No...Are you talking about someone specific or just in general? Thanks for the bump earlier and I guess will list on ebay nextif not luck here.
Butch, you may want to try listing it on http://www.craigslist.com they are good in that it targets a local area which for obvious reasons would be best for a topper.
Another great thing is that it is free to list there.
I got rid of some van shelves I listed there in about 2 hours.
I checked, they have a Memphis pressence.
Good luck,
Shoe
Thanks, I'll check it out.
You ain't gonna believe this - But that's exactly what I'm looking for.
If you've been following the thread, I'm heading down to Laurel, Ms. for the "Ms. Katrina fest". I'll be going down there Sunday the 20th of this month.
I had someone offer to let me use their pickup truck for the trip. Unfortunately, it has no cap or cover on the bed.
So a couple of days ago I sent an email out to everyone I knew around here asking if anyone had a camper shell or something I could borrow. I only got one response, and it was only a6' 8" long shell. (The truck I'm using has an 8' bed)
Being as I'm coming down I-55 I'll be going right by Memphis.
I think this thing would work perfectly for me, given a couple of concerns.
First - I'd have to check the make of the truck I'm getting. (Haven't seen it yet) Any reason to think it wouldn't fit in any particular brand of truck?
Second - Would you be willing to give me a hand setting it on the truck? I doubt I could do it by myself.
All my tools and stuff would have to be unloaded and re-loaded. That could take a while.
Do you have some rough dimensions for the thing? I don't know how big a GMC Sonoma is, and if it will fit the truck I'm getting.
Do the locks work? I sure would like to be able to lock my stuff up.
How does it fasten to the bed? Bolts, clamps, or what?
Sure hope this works out.........
First - I'd have to check the make of the truck I'm getting. (Haven't seen it yet) Any reason to think it wouldn't fit in any particular brand of truck?THE bed of the truck it came off of is outside to outside widthis 61" and the overall length is 91"or 92"( it has a tool boxon it and I had someone else measure it)Idon't think it is modelspecific.Second - Would you be willing to give me a hand setting it on the truck? I doubt I could do it by myself.Man I would love to, probably could even be talked into helping unloadand load your tools up. Do you have some rough dimensions for the thing? I sure would like to be able to lock my stuff upI'll have to double ck. but I believe 2 of the 3 doors workand the one that doesn't work was locked shut. But I don't believeit will be a problem to fixHow does it fasten to the bed? Bolts, clamps, or what?Bolts.Sure hope this works out.....Man I do to as I wouldn't mind meeting a internet ax murderer..:-)edited to add that I had to use a heat gun to get our companydecals off the truck. So those areas have been pretty roughed up.
