amazon and Epinions are the best to me...for finding out real people reviews. That in of itself is priceless!

Are you a registered user on E-pinions, and have you written any reviews? I am a registered user, and have writeen over 100 reviews there. What bugs me is when those reviews are rated by housewives that have no tool use experiance, except for a battery powered tool that shall remain nameless, and locked in the bedside table!
Yeh...I've written reviews in amazon and in Epinions.
Matter of fact I made a big stink a bunch of months ago about DeWalt batteries etc.
I had written one of the few neg reviews.
I was sooooooooooooo fed up with DeWalt I couldn't wait to hit the keyboard in amazon.
I have "thousands" of dollars worth of DW tools. I had a fairly new jig saw break on me twice. Same issue both times. The knob on top that you turn to tighten down the blade became unusable.
First time it cost me about $60 to have fixed...not long after that it busted again and I was told this time it'd be $75 to fix...it was a year later but I hardly used the damn thing tween' breaks.
I decided I'd fix it myself. all I needed it seemed was a $2 pin but I was told by a DW rep that this saw was discontinued and I needed to get to a tool repair shop. That was the only help the rep would tell me. I said that if the tool repair shop could get the $2 pin why couldn't I?
No answer. Tried contacting him another two times. The a-hole finally responds and says he was sorry for not getting back to me...the email must have gotten lost or something...grrrrrr. Too late...I already bought a used Bosch cordless on Ebay with out the battery. All I had to do now was find a good deal on Bosch batteries on Ebay...
In the interim my DW charger/boombox just quit working..didn't drop it..nothing. I changed the cord...nothing.
I was really getting fed up...hence my neg review.
Sure enough I get a call from a DW rep that reads the reviews there.
I tell him all my griefs from the radio to the jig saw to the useless $30 dustbag on my 12" SCMS...to the crap batteries to the...
I send him my emails to and from the first rep and told him how disgusted I was with their service.
The rep apologies up hill and down dale saying I just happen to get a bad rep. Says he'll send me a battery free of charge...hmmmm...big deal but OK.
A month or so later UPS drives in my driveway...brings me a box..I open it and there TWO batteries...COOL!..I'm about to walk back in the house and the UPS guy tells me to hang out a sec...comes back with a big box this time...I open it and its a brand new and improved DW boombox!! YIKES!!! I'm all happy now and I walk back in the house and the UPS guy yells to me...I walk back out and he comes out of the truck with yet another box. A brand new top of their line jig saw!!! Holy Shid!!!
Over $500 in free tools.
Sure pays not to give up and also pays to write negative reviews when they're valid : )
PS...i sold the Bosch jig saw on ebay at a $20 profit : )

What is your I.D on E-pinions? I would like to read reviews by people who actually use the tools they review, not just build ready to assemble furniture and shelving, like some other reviewers. I am in e-pinions as well, under bubbajames.
Some of the tools I have reviewed include:
Milwaukee right angle drill, Milwaukee jig saw, Milwaukee sawzall, Milwaukee 1/2 Drill,
2 Makita 14.4 volt drills, 14.4 volt impact driver, 14.4 volt circ saw, corded hypoid saw, drywallgun, jigsaw.
Hitachi 15 gauge finish nailer, 2 brad nailers.
Campbell Hausfeld compressor and Nail gun
Ridgid hammer drill.
And countless hand tools and power tools from stanley, black and decker craftsman, etc.
Getting paid for my reviews ain't bad either!
I think I just did one review in Epinions for a memory foam mattress I bought...no idea what my number is. My user name there is andybuildz.Same name in Amazon...I've written more in amazon being thats the site I use mostly for tools. I really haven't even done a lot of reviews in there either...maybe a half dozen or so.I really should do more because it has been helpful to me.
edit: now that I think about it the review for the mattress was in amazon

send it over so I can figure out what's wrong with it.
Please tell me that Festool doesn’t actually suck, even if you have to fudge a bit.
The funny thing is, I have some tool reviews on Amazon.com, and my favorite is the Ryobi (opposite of Festool) portable table saw. I love that thing.
I was only kiddin'. Festool is just expensive. Far from a throwaway tool.
Or a buy on impulse tool.
And I don't own a Domino : )~

Went on E-pinions to rate your reviews, couldn't find your review in the system. Your name is there... Let me know if you decide to do some reviews! It would be nice to have a builder rating tools, not some bored housewife who asked her husband how he liked the tool she bought him last christmas so he could hang a shelf.
I recently wrote a review of my Milwaukee right angle drill. I mentioned the warranty, and some clown wrote in asking for the specifics of the warranty...
yeh I know...I think I did respoind to you telling you it was Amazon I did a few reviews in...mainly because thats where I look for reviews as well as buying tools. Epinions is fairly new to me being I was using Amazon so much.
Not to mention all the free tools I got when a DW rep read my neg review in there ; )

some bored housewife who asked h"er husband how he liked the tool she bought him last christmas so he could hang a shelf."Hehe i missed read that to say 'so he could hang himself' and thoght wow he really hates handy man stuff.I have to go to bed.
If I was married to some of the women who rate on E-pinions, I think I might hang myself!
Toolmonger.com, is a tool blog that I find interesting
and amusing.
