using polyisocyanate rigid foam over an existing roof
I was reading an article in which they placed 4″ rigid foam over an existing roof, then plywood sheathing, then shingles. I’m considering taking that approach to insulate my massive cathedral ceiling. what I am struggling with is understanding what they used to fasten this down.

they use various length jrk screws most lumber yards have them, dont think big box stores do. just put a true cut 2x4 around the perimeter of the roof then it gives the edges firm nailing. when we build timberpegs we use 1x4 straping every 16 oc then plywood this gives an air space between the ply and the poly, we fasten threw the straping to hold it down. the air space it just to prolong the life of the ply and shingle. this is the way timberpeg perdicts our building. the screws are refered to as jrk or gerk screws made by scorpian.
thanks for the reply. just so I understand - on the 1X4 straping you ars fastening with the jerk screws then fastening the plywood to it with another fastener?
Note that it's "GRK":

This is what I did on my house, which was designed for this type of insulation. I think the air space helps the shingles, some don't believe it...
