I want a Vacuum hose on a spring rewind reel in my garage. I get a lot of dirt that blows in and need a vaccum a lot. I want to use just a regular shopvac as the vacuum not a central vacuum. I need something that can be hung from the wall or celing. Any Ideas where to get this?
I have air hose and electric cord on reels now and it works out real well.

Maybe a large capacity garden hose reel. But, suction loss is major when you get much over 10' of hose, unless it is high dollar smooth wall type hose.
Hard pipe a dust collector is much better, add floor sweeps and blast gates to have suction where ya need it the most.
Thanks,
I have looked around on the net and options seem very limited. There are many options for air and electric reels, but not vaccum.
Exactly. Thats why 99% of the systems employ hard pipe.
I am now thinking of just getting a regular shop vac and having the hose on a rack. I HATE loud vaccums, the only quiet one I know of is the Fein. but its VERY expensive. Is there anyother quiet vaccums that are cheaper than a Fein?
They are all too loud for my likes, I use a two bag dust collector ( under 200.00$) from harbor freight, very quiet and lots of CFM but not as much static pressure/force as a shop vac type.
How about an electric leaf blower. Blow it out.

I don't know about reels, but I regularly run 35' of salvaged 1 1/2" pool-cleaning hose off of my Wap, which is much quieter than a Fein.
Not as cheap as a Fein, though.
I'd drape the hose across a couple of collar ties, or something, so that it can be quickly dragged out, then hauled back in. Three collar ties would neatly store at least 40' of hose with no coils. Three seconds to pull it out, less than 15 to neatly store it again.
Don't even think Shop-Vac or Sears.
My Wap has sanded drywall for 20 years, although I can tell the bearings are finally starting to go -- it's about as loud as a Fein now, so I'll probably have to replace it in a couple of years.
I don't know how many times I've watched someone try to clean up with a Craftsman vac, a column of dust blasting straight out the top all the while. Why bother! Might as well use a leaf blower!
Wap is my 1st choice. IMHO, Festo beats out Fein by a hair for second place, but not by much. At that point, I'd go with price.

some of the central vacs now have it designed to go back in the wall and store the hose. how about something like that? build a box 2' wide x6' tall maybe 12" deep ,you just shove the hose back in when your done.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T
MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE
DUCT TAPE.
I ordered a Fein Turbo 1 for the garage. It comes with 16ft of hoes, which will reach most of the garage. if I could buy another 5-6ft of similar hose, it would reach 99% of the garage.
Would Lowes or HD have the hose available or do I need to buy the expensive Fein stuff?
I use salvaged pool cleaning hoses -- I've got around 75', I think -- but you can buy that stuff new, sometimes even in department stores.Way cheaper than proprietary vac hose. And any time you see an old household vac on the curb, check it out:
Although those old wands are too skinny for a lot of work, there's something to be said for a 1 1/4" nozzle and wand -- any clogs are right there at the start of the run, instead of halfway through a 35' hose.I've had to stretch a hose out straight, and jam in a 20' length of pipe to clear it before. Good way to waste 15 minutes.AitchKay
