tanx a lot, rez. feedback from salesfolks so far is, as expected, that main issue is hard-water stains. (yeah, bump not)

I've never seen or done glass top on a bathroom vanity, but I did this one on a kitchen island about three years ago.
The HO saw the glass counter tops at an Expo Design Center and decided that was what they wanted. I made the drawings and the top was fabricated in NC and shipped to CA. Under "normal" conditions, it would just have been expensive, but since we had a "drop dead" completion schedule, the price became outrageous. (You don't want to know the cost of air freight from NC to Oakland and immediate delivery to the house. - lol)
The glass is 3/4" thick and the color comes from a coating on the bottom. It's attached to the island with a thinset adhesive which had to be very carefully applied so nothing showed thru. Like all glass, it shows water spots, etc, but - since the coating is on the bottom - cleaning it is no problem. One cool thing about it is that stuff sitting on it appears to "float" above the surface.
