Vapor barrier for sunroom flooring
Im installing a solid prefinished bamboo floor in a sunroom (3 sides glass). The sunroom is on the second floor above a screened porch so the floor will be insulated. I want to ensure that I install a vapor barrier properly but am not sure of the recommended method. Should I install kraft face insulation in the floor and hold the face away from the floor underlayment by about an inch so that the flooring nails dont pierce it? Or is there a simpler more elegant solution?

About the middle of that range, Riversong. Virginia.
Then you're in a mixed-humid climate zone. I would not use a vapor barrier. It will be on the wrong side half the year. It's far more important to allow the thermal envelope to dry in both directions. Keep bulk water out, but let the envelope breathe.

that floor will experience significant temperature swings from day to night and season to season, challenging every material choice you use there. Temp differentials make moisture move back and forth. I would NOT use any VB there for fear of trapping moisture.

Thanks. I appreciate your help and insight here. I will stick with unfaced batts and seal all the cracks with foam.
