What is the current politically correct term for that has up until now commonly been referred to as a Vapor Barrier? An Air Retardant? I can’t keep up.

The most common way to make your own parging mix is to use either Type S mortar for block or Type N for brick and add a concrete bonding additive.

It's called a Vapor Challenged barrier ;o)
Jeff
They dropped "vapor barrier" and "air infiltration" from the 'techically correct terms in the energy field back in the 90s. Replaced by "vapor retarder" (as most 'barriers' still allow vapor transmission (except foil)) and "air leakage" (since infiltration AND exfiltration combined create the condition of air leakage that is considered 'a bad thing').
