I’m working with someone who draws plans in Visual CAD in the Auto CAD discipline. I use VectorWorks 11. When I import his emailed DWGs or DXFs. A lot of the leader lines end up all over the place, and some Detail Notes are in the wrong areas.
The leader lines seem to have been segmented into a bunch of bezier curves. I can select and delete them, but they are in so many pieces, it takes a while.
If I just import, without changing any options, there be will lines all over the place. If I check Change Dimensions to Groups, I get what I described above.
The dimension leaders are fine, it’s the text note leaders that go nuts.
I’ve tried what seems to be every import option, anybody got a workaround, besides deleting?

It's been a while since I used VW (but I loved it). I used to hang out in the forums at Nemetschek's website and found them quite helpful. Have you tried there?
Scott.
I haven't, but I'll check it out.http://www.tvwsolar.com

User forums like that are usually the best place to go for software advice. The power users will usually have a workaround or be able to explain the reason why this or that.the quest for a common useable format in the CAD world is vexing, but there are good reasons for proprietary formats too.

"We have learned that you have a history of using AutoDesk products. VectorWorks will self destruct in 10...9....8...."Scott.
