Hello-
I am in need of a new vehicle. My 94 Plymouth Voyager is on its last legs.
I have a family of 4. I work as a carpenter and woodworker. I spend time both on site, and in the shop. Trying to suite my needs without going too big.
I am looking for a list of things that y’all have done and have worked.
Thanks. BooBoo

Boo-Boo.....
Now what the hell kinda name is that.....
Jeez........You gotta buddy named Yogi?
Is it too much trouble to tell us you're Bob Jones or something from Nebraska or some place or are you afraid we'll all come over to your house or something?
I'm sorry, but enough is enough.

*do you have a bad cut or are you looking for a picanic basket?
*hummers are good....
*b Yogi says:Boo-Boo: if you want the most economical ride to haul your picnic baskets around in, go and find another 94 plymouth voyager in good shape with plenty of miles left and keep the one you got for parts. savings add up pretty fast. -from a yankee
*Sounds like you're a canidate for an extended cab full size pickup, BooBoo.
*Ed,You gettin enough fiber in your diet ?b : )
*Man, somebody broke wind in here!
*Wow Ed- bad day?, BooBoo's just havin a hard time trying to cram kids and tools into the same rig.Sounds like a trailer might be in order.Or maybe leave the kids at home when you go to work would be a better idea.Tell them to get their own wheels or take the bus ("The loser cruiser").Bus- now there's a thought-heavy suspension-big door in the back-long isle for long lumber, take out a few seats in the back for tools, take off early from work to drive your route, stop traffic with your flashers and stop sign, park it free at the bus barn. What could be better?Bob
*Find a used Astro van. Same size outside, bigger inside. Good for 200,000+ miles easily. Same vintage you have is good, newer if you can afford it. Change that name too, BooHoo.
*booboo,Hey wadda ya say we go get some picinic baskets. Maybe a Yogi, I mean a yugo or a Ranger? Seriously, a nice Volvo cross country would be nice. Owned by Ford though.cc
*Astro vans are good ...... EXT version has 4wd .....good in snow.
*If you only have one vehicle, then get a Suburban (aka: Yukon XL)
*Boo-Boo, I use a '97 Dodge SLE 1500 Extended Cab and an enclosed cargo trailer. Plenty of room for the family and enough power to haul materials when needed.
*My name is Aaron Speiser. I live in New York.Prodek is right. I will check out the astros. most of my jobs are small, so is a trailer overkill?Tim, what is the gas mileage like on a truck like yours? Thanks.
*BooBoo, don't let these wanks get to you. They hardly ever actualy bite.Use any name you want. Maybe I'll change my name to Yogi. Or maybe Loki ?b : )
*12 to 16 with the 318 (4x4), BooBoo. Nowhere as good as your old Destroyager but a much more capable vehicle. You can tow and haul many more picinic baskets.
*Boo-Boo, I have friends in the trades who prefer the extended Astro Vans with the 350's. Reasonable mileage 14 to 18 depending upon the load. They seem to go forever. I use a one ton GMC long bed with a tall camper shell. It has a 454 and doubles as the RV hauler. I like it because I can haul a big load and never even know it. Keeping materials covered is a must and the 8ft bed lets me haul full sheets of ply without having to leave the tail gate open. I also have racks so in good weather the long stuff goes up and out of the way. There are racks for Vans also. Mileage on my rig hits 11 mpg if its empty and 11 mpg fully loaded or towing the 5th wheel. Mines an 92 that I got a great deal on about a year ago. I paid 5,750.00 from a private owner for the truck as part of an RV package.
*What is it like trying to cram kids in carseats into the back of an extended cab pickup?Astro vans are great. This must be the reason there are hardly ever any for sale used.Does anybody know of any Hybrid vehicles? Electric mini-vans.....Pickups with tool boxes. Security? Weather infiltration? Cap/tool box combos. What works, what doesn't?One of my first employers was an ex-Marine who would repeat to me over and over, "the only stupid question is the one you don't ask!"BEAR with me ok?A
*Boo-Boo,jc is about right on the gas milage, mine gets 12 -14 mpg around town with the trailer. 13-15 mpg hiway with the trailer. Running empty at 90 on the highway it gets 17-19, just have to really watch for the highway patrol as the ticket would kill the savings on gas mileage. No problem getting kids in the back, although if they have to ride in carseats it would get cramped. The Dodges seem to have more legroom for rear seat passengers than Ford and Chevy.
*BooBoo, you may want to look at a Suburban, I love the things. If you take out the third seat and fold the second ones you have an 8 ft bed with a cap, a cap with 2 doors on the front. You can also fit 12 ft lumber inside, and I have had a 40 ft ladder on the lame rack on the roof. The "newer" models, from 1992 & up, ride like a dream and get about 16 mpg with a 350. I also have a pickup with a real rack, but I use the Sub almost all the time.Ps. my daughter loves to fold the second seats and sit back in the third seat with the dog. She thinks I am her chauffer or something.
*My '96 (4WD) 'burb gets 12 in the city and low to mid 20's on a long highway run.
*No Pressure!!!!....Where the hell do you think you are...on a picnic with the humans Boo boo!!!???near the stream stealing baskets,aj
