Hi All,
I am working on a project with an enclosed stacked stone porch. The porch is open to the main house and will be conditioned. The porch is 300sqft, has 10 windows, a hipped roof and a concrete foundation. I’ll add that I noticed condensation on the windows during a humid December day. HVAC is not currently active. Should I vent the roof or leave it unvented? Thank you!

Is this a question or a statement?
Thank you for pointing this out. Defeats the whole point of a discussion, a question would be helpful: Should I vent the porch roof or leave it invented?
The condensation is likely from the current state of the build.
I would say the porch roof should be vented or not as dictated by the insulation you have installed in the porch roof.
Also, hopefully the location and HVAC load was considered when purchasing all those windows.
since the porch is open to the house, it should be built to the same standards as the rest of the house.
Thanks Uncle Mike! Planning to use rockwool ComfortBatt for the roof.
Ahh yes, we have two HVAC systems, and these are 10 of about 50 windows ?. Old house.
I appreciate your input.
so if this is similar to the house, venting above the insulation would seem in order, at the suggested size and split top and bottom of the slopes.
I could not see the photo you posted.
Here you go!
