I need to build a vertical shade trellis or lath wall next to my driveway.
I bought heavy duty Steel Simpson supports for the 4×4 verticals. These supports are placed into wet cement and leveled. When the cement is cured I bolt the 4×4 to the steel foundation support and build the structure attached to the verticals. That’s what I think. The wind runs the length of the shade wall or trellis and maybe attached to the corner of the house. The wall would be lath in 4″ squares and vines between the vertical 4×4’s. It would be 17 feet long and 10 feet high.
My question is how deep and wide do I make the hole in which I pour cement to hold the steel supports? How would be the best way to maintain level and plum of the steel supports in the wet cement?
Thanks
