Very confused…

| Posted in General Discussion on December 23, 2001 09:31am

Between Blue’s “Prepaidlegal” post being gone (I’m guessing it got axed?) and Orlos post which has me really confused (is he selling something or seeking donations for his lost boat business?) I’m like a naked little innocent boy running through the forest. Someone tells me whats going on…

Michael: Let me warn you about Orlo;;or Larry Martin. He was banned over at JLC. He gets everybody worked up and is blatantly advertising his tools while saying this isnt his purpose. I am sure everyone will get his number REAL quick.

      *Stan, Thanks. Another RK huh?Mike

*All I can say is I refuse to respond to any comment or question from him. Just go over to JLC and check the archives. You be the judge.

*Don't be confused Mike. Mean ole' Andy just hammered me for spamming. I suppose orlolarry was spamming too. No more spamming for me. I'm giving it up. I'm turning over a new leaf.blue

          1. SHGLaw | Dec 22, 2001 02:38pm | #5

*Blue was spamming, but he was honest about it and told you up front what his purpose was.Orlo apparently is from some other planet. Like a dead racoon, it's best left alone.SHG

*De javu! This is too reminiscent of what's his name... The guy with the construction education programs. Richard?Larry, I'm sure you are a very nice guy and I'm not going to question that. The way you came in here and told your story (and it was an interesting one) is like stopping a stranger in the grocery store and spewing the same story. What kind of reaction do you think you would get in that circumstance? Well, that's how we're reacting. As a good ole country boy you know if it smells like cow chit and looks like cow chit, it must be cow chit. So don't step in it! Whether it is or not, your original post does kinda taste like spam.Scott R.

*Larry,You seem like a nice enough guy. Looking for a place to yak, and to be left alone. I for one, welcome you. And I'd like to offer you a bit of advice, if I may.You seem to be saying, "don't push my buttons, or I'll blast ya." And you are showing everyone that you wear your buttons on your sleeve. It's in the nature of the beast to start pushing those buttons, and some here will push your buttons for all they're worth. Reacting to that by blasting/flaming, is only going to get you more button pushing, and eventualy, you may get ganged up on here as well. If you don't control yourself in your reactions, you may also find yourself no longer welcome here. I don't want to see any of that happen. Please try to ignore the button pushing. Treat it as what it is, petty. Beneath you to respond to. Instead, try to enjoy your stay. Try to be a productive and positive person here, and you'll find more support than you might imagine. Get down with the skunks, and the smell that you end up with on yer own hide, is going to make everyone tend to draw back a bit. Some people get their buttons pushed, come out blasting, flaming and spewing vulgarities, and try to defend their actions by saying "well, they did it first". That don't go. What someone else does, in the end, will affect whether they are invited to leave or not. What you do your own self, no matter what the 'provocation' was... you are solely responsible for. If you act in a way that is not acceptable here, you will end up being asked to leave. There will be no 'court' of your peers. If you do wrong, it doesn't matter what someone else did, you still did wrong your own self.In a nutshell, don't snap at every bit of bait that comes by, or you'll start not being able to see the water because of being surrounded by bait, and eventualy you'll get caught. Just my two cents.

*orlo/larry,That last post and the one before it, was almost the exact same word for word spiel you gave over at JLC where some of the guys questioned you about selling your products in threads like cc "the mark of a carpenter" on katz's forum. come on , we will welcome you here as we do all folks but read the rules. dont come here assuming your are "THE master carpenter" and everyone else is a hack. we dont want to be told about how wonderful your tools are. If we need a tool that does what yours does we'll research it and go to the store and buy one. I will fore warn you that the folks here have a finely tuned and calibrated B.S. meter that will go off when B.S. is detected. so relax and enjoy the site. There was a guy who started posting here under the guise of helping and all he was doing was selling a program of video/audio tapes and a boot camp. He got flamed heck it was more of a nukeing well to the point his wife and family and anything he said was torn apart and even taken on in a "e" debate where one of our guys, SHG to be exact, proved his program was nonsense. so just relax your opinions are welcomed but your tool pimping is not.

          5. Orlo | Dec 22, 2001 08:14pm | #9

*Scott R - Luka ,Ron Teti - Thanks for the advice, and I will follow the rules.Larry Martin

*Orlo, I have always had a problem with reading comprehension. What exactly were you talking about doing to animals on the farm? Maybe its my warped thinking, but then again............DanT

*Lawrence, I read a whole lot of your "stuff" at JLC as well as your rap/rant here. What color are you? Just wondering if you were the same Lawrence Martin that makes me laugh on TV.....your RANTS are so hilarious. Keep em' comin bro......lol...screw da rules. By the way...whattya raise on dat farm?

          8. Jim_Walters | Dec 23, 2001 03:04pm | #12

*>Now that a few of you know my addressed, this is a personal invitation to please come to my home and see what a old country boy is all aboutOrlo, you are either nuts or Mike Tyson (and then there's the gun issue) to openly invite people to you're house for a high noon standoff. On the internet??? Sleep well, my friend.

          9. Stan_Foster | Dec 23, 2001 03:16pm | #13

*Jim: Just keep following his posts. We are all doing it wrong, and unsafe. There is only one way to do it right. I just wonder of they make a 33 foot folding ruler.
