Viessmann Vitorond 100 Boiler Opinions
Hi,
I need to replace my old Weil-Mclain oil fired boiler, located in the Northeast in Southern NH. The installer I talked to today quoted a Viessmann Vitorond 100 boiler. I never heard of them. When I looked onlne Viessmann was not mentioned in any lists of oil fired buner manufacturers. I did see a number of negative comments on review boards but they were all years old. It was ineresting that the favorable comments I found all seemed to be written with less than a years worth of experience where the negative comments were writttn after several years of ownership. Can anyone give me information about these units? Are they reliable, servceable? I don’t want to end dup with a boiler where, if something does go wrong with it, I have a hard time finding someone to service it.
The quote he provided is $6050 for:
•Removal and disposal of existing boiler, burner and accessories.
•Installation of a Viessmann Vitorond 100 boiler.
•Installation of a Grundfoss Alpha Variable Speed circulator.
•Replacement of all boiler trim pieces including air separator, water feed, expansion tank etc.
•Installation of Califi zone valves.
•Installation of a Riello Burner.
•Complete commissioning and start up.
•One year labor warranty.
•Manufacturer’s parts warranty.
Thanks,
George

Viessman Vitorond
Hi,
Thought i would try one more time. Do any of you HVAC type guys have any comments on Viessmann or any of the other prodcuts mentioned in the quote? I am completly cludelss about this stuff. If someone told me they wanted to put in an Edsel boiler because it was the newest and had the coolest technology I'd say great!
Re: Viessmann
Post on heatinghelp.com, forum section. That site is dedicated to HVAC professionals but they will answer your questions. From what I know, Viessmann is one of the best but also more expensive. What is the most important is local availability of service and parts. You don't want to wait weeks for part when your boiler Die in February.

Hi George:
It sounds to me like you have found a good HVAC man as the products he has selected are state of the art.
I also am in NH and Viessmann US is located in RI.
Couple comments:
What air seperator is he using? something with a micro bubble air seperator is preferred, like
Caleffi, Spirovent, honeywell or B&G, not the old Taco air scoop style.
Are you getting the Viessmann control with Outdoor Reset and hot water priority?
that should have been offered and in my opinion installed.
The Riello burner is great, mine is 12 years old, no problems.
What about outside air to the burner?? or boiler room?
good luck,
