To answer your first question.
Yes the “pock marks” in the gypcrete need to be floated out. Use a portland patch made for that purpose. DAP brand Webcrete is what I use. There are many good brands.
Remember that the finished vinyl will only look as good as the prepwook under it does.
You, do want to install the vinyl before the vanity, toilet and base are installed.
Also before the door casings are installed if possible, if not be sure to undercut all door jams.
Useing a template is not a bad idea if you question your cutting skills.
The qypcrete should be warm well before installation, during and for at lease 48hrs after.
Use a 1/16 square notch vinyl vinyl trowel and a quality sheetgood adhesive. The IMEDIATLY roll the floor after laying into the glue. a rolling pin will work if that’s all you have.

Hope this answers your questions,
This really is a pretty easy DIY project.

Vinyl over gypcrete-how to smooth the surface first.
I am ready to lay vinyl floor covering over gypcrete and the surface of the gypcrete is pockmarked.
What should I use to prep the gypcrete -- to smooth it out?
I am a doityourselfer and have never done a vinyl floor install. I would greatly appreciate someone giving me any tips !!! ( I have done a FHB search and the only issue which deals with install is Issue number 20 something-don't have it. ( I use FHB as my guide for just about everything!))
The install is for a small (new) bathroom--- 5 ft x5 ft.--- nice and small--- so I feel conformable doing it.
Gypcrete was poured about 7 weeks ago and is good and dry.
I assume I lay the vinyl before installing the toilet and vanity- correct?
I assume I lay vinyl on the entire floor-- even the floor which will be covered by the vanity-- correct?
I plan on doing a template first, made from a roll of brown masking paper I have (3 ft wide)
Shall I keep the gypcrete warm when gluing the vinyl?
Any tips for gluing??
How do I apply downward pressure to the vinyl as the glue drys-- or is this a 'not to worry'??
Any common 'gotchyas' that I can avoid!!??
Thanks you very much.
Rick
