Hi,
The vinyl siding was finally delivered on Wed. 2 carpenters were on site to install the vinyl. It took them 4 hrs to install (The area below the door threshold). Hard to belive it took 2 men that long to install that small amount of vinyl siding from the threshold down. They arrived on site at 11:00am. The starter strip and j trim weren’t installed till 12:40pm. I must measure up the area below the threshold to find out the total sq ft of vinyl that was installed. 4 hrs to install that small amt of vinyl siding is absurd!
I have never seen vinyl siding installed that close to ground level before. What about that window… looks like water can easily find its way in behind that siding.
How suceptible to moisture is vinyl siding???? surely that can’t be code It’s barely off the ground.
The contractor said his men would be up on Monday to finish putting up the vinly siding..

i would not gaulk at the time it took them. everyone has their own pace.
the windows you picture several times (im assuming your complaining about) is why everyone on this thread kept pointing out proper flashing (which you ignored) those windows are made so that the siding can slide in the way they have it, may not be the prettiest install but you cant expect any different if you didnt correct the many issues EVERYONE kept warning you about. the main one being letting this contractor continue working. you didnt remedie this so i dont understand why you are upset.
vinyl is plasitc, its not going to be be affected the way other coverings are close to grade.
However, vinyl close to grade will capture bugs, dirt, moisture behind it and cause any wood-like products behind to rot.
yes
but there shouldnt be any wood like products that close to grade anyway, right?. and we know how well this one was built...
