vinyl siding install before or after drywall install
Im building a 44x 28 garage with an apartment upstairs. I want to finish exterior with vinyl siding and then finish interior. I have been told that if the vinyl is installed before drywall that the weight of the drywall could cause siding to buckle. I have also been told that its best to finish exterior before finishing interior . What do you think. Thank you .

Vinyl Siding.
The best advice about vinyl siding installation. DON'T.

In spite of Mike's disdain for vinyl, whatever you heard about buckling vinyl because of hanging sheetrock is a bunch of BS. If hanging board buckles the siding-you've got way more worries.
Who in the heck did you hear that from, anyway?
It should be mentioned that a good way to assure buckling vinyl is to nail it too tight. This doesn't have to do with structural loading but rather with thermal expansion.
I think your information source is unreliable.
bias against vinyl
I admit I hate vinyl siding. But, the entire exterior should be clad in plywood or OSB. If this is the case then the drywall won't make anything sag. If you are trying to install vinyl directly over unsheathed studs....... think again.
I agree with everyhting that's been posted so far. (Except hating vinyl siding)
Whoever dreamed up that line of BS is nuts.
I'm not nuts.
But I hate vinyl siding too, the kind you can tell from two blocks away. Now, if there's vinyl that looks so good that I didn't notice the plastic look, then I like that kind.
